Committee Activities:
- Understanding and interruption of the City Zoning Code.
- Watchdog on neighborhood property code compliance.
- Primary contact with the City Zoning Department and the local NET office regarding code enforcement and other matters.
5/19/26:New code final draft is now available – it needs to go through various Boards then to City Council for approval – Browncroft is a low-density residential neighborhood – go to rochesterzap.com to view City zoning maps, etc. – there are live-work category requirements – major concerns are houses to be used as Airbnbs – NYS got involved and established a bed and breakfast registry, Monroe County has not signed on, opting out of registry at this time. There was a lively discussion around deed restrictions – it was suggested forming a dedicated committee to address these concerns.
